Modal Auxiliary

Can
Can be used to express ability, and in Indonesian can be defined with more or less may or may.
Example :
- He can finish the work in a day
Can used to express permission and in the Indonesian roughly means "may"
- You can use my pen if you don’t bring yours
May
May be used to express possibility or probability (ability), and in Indonesian roughly means “possible”.
Example :
- He may not be able to finish the work on time
- I may come late tomorrow
Must
Must be used to express necessity or obligation, and in language means "must".
Example:
- We must submit the task next Tuesday
- She must be sick as she looks pale and weak
Will
Will used to express the will of futures, and in the Indonesian language support is often interpreted as "will".
Example :
- We will not go to the party tonight
- Will you help me carry this suitcase?


shall
Shall used to express the will of futures, and in the Indonesian language support is often interpreted as "shall", used by subjects I and We.
Example :
- I shall call him tonight
- Shall i take you there now?
Could
Could, if the past is a form of cans, used to express past abilities, and also means "can or can".
Example :
- His uncle could swim across this river when he was youg
- Could you type this letter for me?
Might
Might be used to express possibility, and in Indonesian defined as "possible".
Example :
- He might win the game if he has good luck
Should / Ought To
Should / Ought to be used to express advisability, and in Indonesian can be interpreted as "should or should".
Example :
- He shouldask an apology to her for that mistake
